Introducing dogs

Some important things to note:

-This was a true introduction. These dogs have never greeted before but have trained around each other a handful of times.

-A fenced in area is definitely more practical when that is an option, especially if the owner is not comfortable with letting go of the leash. A long line can be good for a moment like that as well.

-If the other dog does not at least have a solid recall, you may want to reconsider the play session.

-You may need to do several training sessions over the course of a few days before you actually let the dogs meet. Every dog is different, so don’t rush it.

-This is not the only way, this is just the routine I like to follow

Feel free to comment below with anything I may have left out or with ways you like to introduce your dog to a new dog.
