Anxiety

I get it. Walking your reactive dog can be so stressful. I was once there.

You can try your best to act like your not nervous but deep down inside you really are. I may have looked calm on the outside but my heart was pounding in the inside.

And you always get those people that tell you, just act confident, stop worrying, your dog‘s going to feed off of your energy!

And they are 100% right…..BUT it’s just not that easy. You can’t just turn on confidence and turn off all of that anxiety. You can’t just erase all of the times your dog has reacted and embarrassed or worried you.

But with training it can get better and each time your dog walks past other dogs without a reaction, your confidence and trust will grow-and as your confidence grows, so does your dog’s!

So don’t give up!
If you are struggling with your dog being reactive, follow my dog reactivity series posted March 24th with the Kick-off post titled “Aggression in Dogs”. Once you’ve read through them, feel free to ask questions.
